2000 cherokee problem

2000 cherokee problem
I am new here and hope i have this in the right forum. I have a 2000 grand cherokee laredo 4.0-auto 4x4 sometimes when started it will miss real bad. If you shut it off and restart it it will run good until you shut it off and start it again. I checked for codes but none were found. Any ideas thanks Bob.
