Angry 1999 grand jeep cherokee limited 4wd won't work in high

1999 grand jeep cherokee limited

my 4 wheel drive works in low, makes a loud clunky noise but works. It won't work in High.
It also vibrates going down the road.

Any ideas?

4wd all the time is actually Quadratrac....quad=4.

Look at the shift selector on the floor. If it says 2WD, 4WD part time, 4WD full time, neutral, 4WD lo, it's Selectrac. I don't know what Quadradrive II says because I never owned one, but I believe all you've got is 4hi and 4lo with a neutral in between. I don't care what Google says. I've owned 2 jeeps and they are BOTH Selectrac. I'll never buy a jeep with constant 4WD because there's too much to go wrong with them. JMHO however.

NOW, what does your shifter say?

In that case, you have the Quadratrac II and I think your t/case is toast. Don't take my word for it. Get it checked out.
