My 1999 Grand Cherokee (4.0L 6 cyl.) will not start. It will turn over. At first glance it appears to be a PCM related problem, but I want to pick everyone's brains.
The idiot lights seem to work, but the gauges are not responding.
I haven't chased down wire voltages yet, but just guessing based on what's not happening I'm guessing it's the PCM or some sensor that connects to it. Maybe the Crank Positioning Sensor?
However, the overhead display is fully functional and there's NOT a "no bus" display. Also, the "no key" light comes back on like I have an unshipped key. The keys are ok though. I tried two with the same result. I guess that also could be a symptom of a bad PCM?
Any advice for some quick troubleshooting checks would be greatly appreciated.
