Talking 1998 Grand Cherokee Serpintine belt

Hi folks, Cant seem to find any info online about the 1998 grand cherokee serpintine belt. 5.2L engine. It has a belt tensioner but is that where you access for belt removal? By the way, the tensioner needs replacement also. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.-Bdog

Yes, that's how you get the belt off. Make a diagram of the belts lay-out on the various pulleys, in case your factory one on core support is missing. Put a wrench on tensioner and rotate it clockwise to release tension enough to remove belt. Hang onto that wrench! Remove belt from tensioner and slowly release your pressure on wrench. Reverse to replace, being careful to get belt onto water-pump properly as to prevent reverse rotating pump causing overheating.
And Welcome to CF.

No it's not hard. Just watch that wrench doesn't fly out of your hand when you remove the belt. If you have trouble let me know. I can send you a scan of the manual with a couple of pics in the write-up.
