Default 1998 grand cherokee.

My son has a '98 grand cherokee with select trac. It takes awhile for the front differential to engage after shifting to 4 wheel drive. Is the delay normal?

Mines a 97,it goes into part time right away, but in full time it seems to take awhile before the front end to kick in.

4HI or 4LO should kick in right away since ZJ's do not have CAD axles

Any idea why there would be a delay? It acts like the front end is vacuum activated. Havent had it long so i havent looked it over to close yet. Thanks for any info!!
