1997 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 gauges
I am trying to help out my neighbor with his instrument gauge problem. Seems that his gauges work once in a while then just stops working, been doing this for around a couple weeks now... He ask me if there was a relay for the gauges, I do not believe there is cause I have did research and I have not found one that worked the instrument gauges, all I have found is that number 6 fuse under the passenger side dash works the instrument cluster.... Anyone know for sure rather there is a relay that works these?
I would not think it would be a relay or a fuse myself though, cause if either go bad it does not work once in a while it just stops working.
Any Ideal of what could be the problem? Thank you in advance.

Welcome to CF!
If everything goes out at once, then comes back on, I would suggest loss of the ground connection for the instrument cluster. IDK about your ZJ, but my WJ has a large plug on the back of the cluster that I'd look at first.
