hey i have a 97 grandcherokee with 318 it was like 89 degrees here and me and the wife were out driving up the country side and i noticed my temp guage rose alil by alittle i mean like a hair or 2 over 210 which is the middle of the gauge i,m kinda a newb to my jeep so is that normal i mean most of the driving we were doing was up a nice up hill grade for like 15 minutes then a down hill ...any help wouldbe very appreciated thanks

 

I've had my 96 ZJ with the 5.2 for about 6 months now and after I replaced the thermostat that's exactly the behaviour mine exhibits. I've done in-town and highway at ambient temps from 60 to 110 with little to no change in temp gauge reading.

Not sure it makes any difference, but I'm at about 5,000 to 7,000 feet elevation all the time, too.

That's a little high. Flush the fluids and clean the radiator. That should help.
