1997 5.2 grand cherokee no start

no spark,,,no voltage to coil,,, codes stored were 12,45,21, and a possible [45., may be 44 or 46, was checked by daughter in law, and the 55. possible crank sensor or coil??? has 200,000 miles too.

No voltage to the coil would mean either a blown fuse of a bad ASD relay.

fuse under hood i assume?,,,will check,,

fuses all good, power to all, swapped asd relay, no change, no power to coil, no start, no ignition, has 5.2 engine, any ideas??

Welcome to CF.
Since you stated the ASD relay and all fuses were good there's only a couple of things I can think of trying. Remove the distributor cap and verify the rotor is turning when the starter is turning over the engine. Wouldn't be the first time the dist. drive had sheared off. That would prevent the pick-up from sending a signal and the coil from creating a spark. IMO.
If that's okay check the pick-up in the distributor.

will check as soon as possible, pain working on when at sons house, thought bout the timing chain too, read a lot about theft deterrent and computer connections here and the crank position sensor which i could not see from above if it has one for this year,,,hey thanx for that idea i will pull the cap off and check that as soon as i can run over there....

The Crank Position Sensor is on the upper right rear of the engine/trans mating surface of your V8.

any way to diagnose a crank sensor???,,,and could it kill voltage to the coil?

just an update, due to me working all the time my daughter-in-law had her jeep towed and they said they think it is the fuel pump,,,i disagree but i guess we will see..........

well the mechanic that fixed the jeep put a new coil and dist cap on it to fix it,,,,,,why i had no voltage to coil i have no clue.......
