Default 703 injectors vs stock

I'm having a problem with my 703 injectors I purchased for my 91 Cherokee. I couldn't get them to seat in my motor or the furl rail. I called a friend over so I could try 'equalizing' the pressure while feeling for them to lock in. If you see the picture the black one is the 703 but the end shown that goes into the motor is too long for it to let the o ring go deep enough to seat. Same on the other end. Am I missing something or.....

I did clean out the holes, also used a nice blob of vasoline on both ends. I'm not sure of the brand, here is a photo of the entire injector. Because This new project is my d.d. I slapped the old factory ones back in today without a problem. I hadn't heard of swapping injectors till I joined This forum and was excited to try. Any tips?

There it is. The o-ring is set to low. it goes directly below the pintle cap. They take a little work to get into the fuel rail, but that's what the vasoline is for. You didn't miss a step in the install, just a simple mistake in "construction".
