1996 Grand Cherokee wont start after running out of gas

Like my title says. I ran out of gas yesterday. Walked to the store and got gas and it still wont start. Just got it towed home and I took off the fuel filter. It seems to be clean but I'm replacing it anyway. I'm pretty sure that wont fix the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

did u try priming the system by cyleinging the key when u do this you can hear the tank turn on do this like 4 times and if you dont hear the pump check ur fuses

i agree check the fuse if that isnt it alot times if you run out of gas the pump will burn up cuz the gas is wat cools it so check that if all else fails

how much gas did you put back in before you went to start it? I know from experience that sometimes a gallon will not do it. Possible clogged filter from sucking all the debris floating before.
