Default 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee v8 Emissions

Falied emissions

Hydrocarbons and the other one both failed. I can get all the %s of each that failed.

On the v8 where do i start looking for issues?

Its a friends vehicle and iv only messed with the I6.

Happened to me, no engine codes either. I replaced oil, plugs, and O2 sensors, to no avail. In short, turned out to be bad cat. You can pick one up for around 100 or so. I would try replacing that first.

The weird thing is my friend went back there with no changes 2 days later and passed. So idk what his issue was. But ill be doing the tune up anf stuff anyways.

Also, your '95 V8 ZJ has an EGR system. Don't know if that's part of your issue, but the following explains it, how to check it, and replace it if needed.

easy one to miss-- make sure you get your car up to FREEWAY speeds for *at least* 20 mins before. I drove around in my Acura for 20 mins on the street and the tech told me I barely passed and he could tell just from experience the engine wasn't hot enough to really start burning things off.

Well his zj passed the next morning. Im thinking it was engine temp related. But its all taken care of now guys thanks i appreciate it.
