1995 Jeep cherokee Laredo v8 - air conditioner
A mechanic in NJ believes the part causing my leak is the evaporator. His estimate is about $1100 for parts and labor. However, he is not sure.
The vehicle has approximately 110,000 miles. It is in excellent shape outside and inside. The only known issue is the air conditioner.
Do you know if the evaporator requires taking out the dashboard to replace it?
Are there any other repair options? I live in Northern NJ Bergen County

unfortunatelly there is no other option if the problem is evaporator.
biggest difficulty on this job is to remove all dash. it takes lots of time.
in my country it cost a lot, but $1100 seemed a little much for such old cars. you can put a similar sized evaporator too.
