Default 1995 Grand Cherokee Orvis Edition?

Ok, guy in my town has this 1995 Grand for sale, says its some Orvis Editon. Supposed to be a factory lifted rig, sits 1 inch higher than other grands of the same year. Its got the 5.2 with all time 4wd. Has 170,000 miles. One dinged fender and needs a radiator. Is 1000 dollars fair for this? Obviously I will look to see if it is a total pile and see how it runs first but wanted to pick the brains of the Jeep peeps .

Default Still have the burn scars

Check overhead console operation. Check ABS...see that the ABS light is ON when you turn the key and off when running. A cute Used Car trick is to pull the #5 fuse on faulty ABS systems - just disables the warning lite! Check the transfer case and steering control box for leaks. All this (mine) is $3,000 of repairs.

You got ripped off big time...

OP-For $1k, even if you parted it out, you would make more than the purchase price.

While at the Junkyard this weekend, of the three Grands they had there, they where all pre '96 Orvis Editions with the 5.2, just saying...

I would just go over it with a fine tooth comb, I would even go so far as to compression test the cylinders and take it on a 20min test drive then let it sit for 10min before I made an offer, but I'm a picky person.
