1995 4x4 display screen help
i have a 1995 jeep grand cherokee i just got it, well my problem is my 4x4 screen. my 4x4 works great but after it is on for a while it will give me a 4x4 needs service or gets black for about 10 mins. and comes back on and my time and date will be wrong . the guy i got the jeep from said it was a sensor but i am not sure. this is my first jeep and i wanted to hear from some 1 that knows jeeps to see if you all can help me out?

Going black and then coming on with the wrong data and time suggests a loose wire. You'll have to take it out and look behind and chase the wires to where it could be loose or broken.
That may solve your 4WD service issue or else, but most likely you have a bad sensor.

I have a 95 ZJ since it was new.
In the past year or so the VIC occasionally resets to Jan 01 12:00, and since last autumn the 'Service 4wd Switch' message comes on after ~17 minutes of driving.
I ignore them. All the switch does is tell you if you are in 4H, N or 4Lo. I can tell by the shift lever which it is..... maybe someday I'll plug in my spare switch and then troubleshoot from there. But only after the temp goes above 0*F.
