I drove my jeep to school tonight and it ran fine. No issues nothing. I went to leave class about 5 hours later and got in the jeep. Turned the key lights came on but didn't crank or anything it was silent. Thought maybe it was battery hooked it up to a friends truck and didn't make a difference even left it hooked up for 20 minutes and nothing. No noise. My teacher said when the hood was open and I turned the key you would hear one tiny little click. I don't know what is wrong. I just bought this car and love it want it fixed. I could use help and suggestions please.

Check you battery cable at the starter and the grounds. Also check your fuses under the hood good luck.

well if the lights come on and the little security light on the gauge cluster isnt blinking then its not the security system. if you hooked it up to another truck and tried to jump it then its not the battery. the only other thing it could be is the starter. try haveing someone hold the key to try to crank it over and get a hammer and beat on the starter and see if it starts then.
Yea the security light wasn't blinking. I will have my bf test the starter tomorrow. Normally I would but I can't atm. I just wasn't sure cause normally I thought starters would click or something.

ive been through a good 3 starters in my ZJ and the last one one i recall never clicked or anything. i just had a lucky guess
We will go and check the starter than tomorrow. We have a multimeter to see if it has the right voltage. If I read right it should be 12v? I will post after we do that and see what from there. I appreciate it. If my baby wasn't due any day I wouldn't be so worried we just need the vehicle is case something happens.

You should have 12 volts at the smaller wire on the starter solenoid while cranking the engine, if not then you have to take a look at the ignition switch, neutral safety switch, and starter relay.
