A friend of mine has an 07 WK. She is having issues restarting the vehicle after she has started and stopped it several times (running errands). Throws a code "transmission over temp". She says when it acts up she has to start it in neutral. Lately that hasnt been working. Anyone else have this issue?

A couple of things to check..

ATF level
Engine coolant
No obstructions to the radiator
Possible clogged ATF filter
