I have a 2006 grand cherokee lerado. Here is my problem, it started with rough idle when sitting at a stop light the engine revs and the tact bounces all over the place. Now the trackion control light is coming on and so is the check engine light. I have a code scanner but it is not picking up anything just flashes 8888 and shows no codes. Also now it is shifting at weard points. it just hit 62k miles and has the 4.7 in it, the only thing I can think of is some kind of computer problem. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Any help would be great!

 

gotta get a code. Get a shop with a good scanner to read it. The traction control light will come on if there is a major code. Had a camary in the other day, traction control light was on because there was a catalitic code. Get a good shop to read it.

Also, if u have a K@n filter sometimes over oiling will cause the maf to go bad, which also controls shifting.
