I want to put the factory hitch on but want to know if it is better to go with an after market type hitch. Let me know your thoughts.

It seems that the after market hitches are not rated for quite as much as a OEM hitch, then again you will have to pay that great Mopar price...

Factory hitch is real easy to install, you will need to trim the rear facia. You will need to have your local dealer (if you still have one) update the TIPM so it will recognize the added module on the BUS, trailer lights will not work till this is done.
I have seen some aftermarket hitches and they look like *****, they hang way down, and the chop-n-splice harness that they have a highschool kid install after he has poked holes in all the wires to find B+ and ground will soon turn green and cause all kinds of problems.

Any reciever hitch with the larger opening (class 3) and used with a standard hitch should be a 500# tongue weight and 5000# tow rating.
If a load leveling hitch is used it will make it 1000# tongue and 10,000 tow rated.

I am going with the OEM set-up due to the looks. I saw one yesterday with the low hanging aftermarket hitch and it aint pretty. I will be goin with the OEM style.
