Exclamation 04 grand cherokee trans has gone nuts

I have a 04 grand cherokee 4.0 auto trans. the trans started acting a little funny. not shifting right and sluggish from a start. it threw a few codes, i replaced the battery and it stopped. well just the other day it wouldn't shift from 1st until about 30mph at around 3000 rpm. it threw a code for the trans fluid temp sensor voltage too high. i checked the fluid level and it was almost empty. i topped of the fluid hoping it fix the issue. it did not help at all. i just went and checked the codes (cycled the key on and off 3 times). it threw 5 different codes P0300: random multiple misfire P0713: trans temp sensor voltage too high P1757: governor pressure sensor too high at 0mph P1762: governor pressure sensor voltage too high P1763: governor pressure sensor voltage too low. i am lost! i dont want to start throwing money at this damn thing. would it be possible that a clogged filter could cause all of the trans problems? i can fix the misfire no problems. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard a rumor that an 02 sensor malfunction can cause trans codes and misfire codes to come up. I had a P0711 and P0713 come up on a key scan, but my plug-in scanner showed 02 sensor malfunction, sensor 1, bank 1 instead. All this happened after it got real cold, but it's running and shifting fine. Still getting normal mpg. I know the trans temp sensor is working because it won't shift into O/D until it warms up.

That's one thing I forgot to mention. The od off light flashes and then the trans over temp light comes on. I have an actual scanner and I'll check with that after work today. It's just handy using the key method lol. If I had hair to pull out I would. The stupid thing costed me 6 grand and it's been nothing but one problem after the other

So you checked the fluid level and it was almost empty ?
I would take it to a transmission specialist to get a proper diagnosis done.
Might get away with a fluid & filter change or the transmission could be toast.
Low fluid will cause the transmission to overheat which will rapidly damage it.

I topped off the fluid. I'm going to change the filter and pray that fixes it. If not I'm going to get some Tannerite and blow it up.😀

I'm trying to remember more specifically but thought I read about someone with a clogged trans cooler line that was causing flashing OD and temp trans lights to come on along with the trans malfunctioning. If you are going to drain it to change the filter, not a bad idea to check the lines to make sure you have flow.

I just went thru something similar. P0711, P0713, P1762, went into limp mode (second&reverse). We replaced the governor pressure sensor, governor pressure solenoid, and transducer. 6 qts fluid, filter and 2 hours labor, $374.68 down the road shifting like new. 228K miles on this beast and it's still shifting perfect.
