I need motors for the drivers seat. Seat won't move up/down or tilt. It still moves back & forth. Does anyone sell just the motors? Don't want used because I'll probably just run into the same problem again. Can get rebuild kits & a complete track but rather purchase new motors.

Is it the motors or the switch? Up,down and tilt isn't used as much as forward, back function. My 97 ZJ driver's side worked fine but the passenger's side only worked front to back. The passenger's seat side panel was loose, however.
There are electrical shops that will fix/rewind your motors.

It is my understanding after speaking with a mechanic that the plastic gears at the front of the motors have bound up either because of cracking or the gear teeth breaking off. The motors are working. When I use the switch the motors move and then immediately jam. The seat jerks slightly in each of the directiions. I found a company that sells the gear rebuld kit at $50 each but would much rather replace the motors instead of getting into a rebuild project.
I do use the up/down/tilt a lot because I am 6'4" and I move the seat after my shorter wife uses the jeep. (LOL) But I am sort of thinking like you in the sense that maybe there is something preventing the movement of the assembly. I guess I will need to do a little more investigating.

Here's something to keep in mind. My 2000 basic bare bones WJ only has the manual front-back slide rails setup. If you don't want to go thru the money and hassle of buying the motors and gearboxes, they might work for you. The part I find amazing is there doesn't seem to be much room under my seat. I can only get a can of WD40 and a flashlight under there. It still has the reclining feature however. I'm only 5'7" and the seat could be a little taller but it works okay for me. The windowsill is just at my armpit level.
I once owned a 61 Chevy Impala that the PO had put a pair of Corvair buckets in. He had 4X4 wood blocks under the mounts! I replaced them with aluminum blocks because the wood was breaking apart and the seats were moving around.
What I'm saying is you can build it the way that works for you. Those plastic gears don't last long. They would if Mopar used high strength nylon instead of cheap polycarbonite.
I've worked in plastics for 40 years. There are plastics, and then there are plastics.
