i have the cheap 90 amp flux core welder from HF, it works great. with a little practice, it can lay out some pretty nice welds

Well that's very re-assuring! Thanks for the heads up, that's the one I was looking at online.

Have you ever tried it on anything like the thinner body panels on the jeeps? I have a couple of rust spots I'd like to patch too but don't know if flux would just burn through?

ive never welded body panels, but i did weld in a floor pan on a go cart for a friend of mine which was thin sheet metal. as long as you have the welder on the "min" setting (there are 2 amp settings, "min" and "max") and do tack welds rather than a full bead, it would probably be fine.

and one other thing, do NOT use the wire they give you with it. to put it nicely, it sucks. go to home depot and get a spool of lincoln electric wire, it splatters much less and the welds look nicer.

Thanks again man! I'll use the crap wire to practice a little with since those welds would look terrible anyway haha. Not on the Jeep of course...

Muffler fell off on Rt 80 today, guess that's getting done this week lol.

Got my new speakers put in over the weekend though, 5 1/4" Sony Explodes that have been in my garage for years. Red and black so they look damn good too.

Ok, so I now officially have a complete exhaust system! Since the PO had butchered the inlet and outlets of the muffler so I couldn't properly attach it to the Cat or tailpipe I had to buy a new muffler.

I wanted to upgrade to a magnaflow or Dynomax but between Mieneke and two other parts stores the best I got was a Walker OE replacement. I was more concerned with getting it back on the road as it's my DD.

I'll post up pic's of the new exhaust once I get them off my phone, that tail pipe's a PITA to get in!

So, the Cat was replaced by the PO and I replaced everything after it about a month ago and it's holding well. Only issue now is that I need to replace the piece that couples the downpipe and the Cat and both U-bolts since I have a small leak there now.

Can't for the life of me pull the code causing the CEL using the "key method", both the CEL and the O/d off lights fliash 5 - pause - 5. Not sure where to go from there haha.

Oh, and I found some 31's for $175 obo on Craigslist. Will those fit under a stock hieght ZJ? Looks like it might be tight...
