Default XJ ZJ hybrid?

So I've got a slightly built '94 XJ with a blown motor and a stock ZJ daily driver. I was wondering if anybody knows if the '94 tranny and T-case would work with that '97 4.0L ZJ. There are also some other offroad worthy goodies I'm planning on pulling from the XJ

Anything will work if you're willing to put in the work.

Work isn't the issue, just haven't been able to find a solid answer on the compatibility of the parts lol

I'm a little curious out of all my available options between the ZJ and XJ drivetrains what would be the most reliable/strongest combo, even the axels, are the better in one or the other?

XJ D30, ZJ steering, XJ engine,trans,t-case, xj rear you have now. It'll all go together with some minor modifications.

Only year ZJ had an AW4 was the first, 1993. The 4.0L was paired with a AW4/242.
If you were to get a 1993 ZJ, 4.0/Auto PCM it would be plug in pray.
T-case should bolt up. Just noticed yours is OBD2, so dunno how well the AW4 would work.

are you looking to keep the ZJ DD status, or turn it into a trail rig?

Swap HPD30, AW4 & NP231. Rear axle is the same. AW4 will work if you put some time into it and you will have a badass Jeep.

This jeep is going to be a weekend warrior. Daily driven and hopefully capable of trail runs and camping. So the motor in the XJ is pretty much shot. The ZJ ( OBD 2 ) motor is fine. Would the XJ tranny and transfer case work the the ZJ motor? ( sorry I'm kinda new to jeeps so I'm not completely sure of parts codes and all that )

yes they will swap but it will be some work getting the TCU to transfer and work.
