Dude, that is hilarious, huge, and ridiculous... in a good way. Is that legal on the roads down there? PA is gay with there lift laws and tires past fender flares. So anyway yeah, I bet that thing is fun off the road. Nice rig. I wouldn't even begin to know (off=hand without using the SEARCH Button) where to begin in building that beast... And I thought about tractor tires, but I believe they may ride crappy on the highway. lol

tractor tires just tear huge ruts man. trust me im all about mud. you need some tall bobcat style tires. they're wider. if you go tractor then do dually rims so you can double em. all your gonna do with those pizza cutters is dig yourself in and watch the stock XJs wizz past laughing.

not trying to be disrespectfull but go wide bud, mud neeeeeds a wide footprint.

 

What is really stupid is how you get feed back from guys who have never run tractor tires. Guys who have never run them tell me they look stupid and then guys who do run them say they are badass I have never heard from someone who has made the switch to tractor tires say they were going to switch back to DOTs. If im getting stuck with 49s then its time for more power and bigger meats and for the price of 49 boggers you can get sweet v treads. If you want to really run in the deep stuff id go with them thats what weve used on are mud trucks since my dad first started they work or else every body in VI unlimited wouldnt be running them. and running them duelly wow that wouldnt be a good idea unless your swapping in something like a 550HP cummings. Thats just my opinion others have theirs not trying to start stuff. but id do it because youll never regret it

 

ive ran em before and i just dug huge ruts. heavy equipment tires are v tread and wider. just trying to suggest other options. tractor tires are ok but at tall sizes the need to be wider.

 

Did you try weighting the wheels?

 

tractor tires are good, when you have mud pits with a bottom (as that is what they are designed for....to dig down to the hard bottom). if you are going to run in those bottomless mud pits in the south you'll just sink down trying to find it lol, that's when a wider tire helps, to "float" accross the mud, like the bogger, plus it has the paddle tread design, which is a definite plus

 

completly agree like the OP said hes using it in competition and they are the hard bottom pits

in ny here we have alot of clay in the bottoms. my boggers turn into slicks half the time. most of the guys with tractor tires do well. its starting to get to the point if you dont have 40s your done when the swamps dry up im hung up n the ruts in minutes

 

im rockin leafs with 38s

 

im low on funds currenty for the build so its going slow. i have the 42'' tractor tires. and eyeing a dana 60 in the junkyard out of a old ford. if i sell my current set up i will have plenty of cash to build but i cant bare to be without a rig missing out on the fun every weekend.

CUMMINS* sorry thats a pet peve of mine lol and running dual wheels wouldnt be a horrible idea either just my opinion.
