Default XJ revival

Hey guys, I'm new here, was on naxja a while back, had some problems with the xj and got busy with work/school/other hobbies, so it sat for around 2 years.

Got it back in high school, did most of the building then, and now I'm going back in to fix the problems with the engine, suspension and brakes.

My lebaron hood vents let quite a bit of water in during some heavy storms and that fried my tps and possibly a few other sensors on the throttle body. So the tear down begins. Doing some engine repairs first, then fix my suspension problems, and finally get my brakes back to par.

Took the TB off, found a nice corroded mess, butterfly valve stuck in place.

With that off, I found a nice pile of corroded material sitting in the intake manifold. I remembered I had bought a 2000 TJ intake manifold several years ago and have had it sitting in my parents garage ever since. So the swap begins...

Here it is overall. It's going to be a slower process, on a limited budget and have been busy with class work and it's hot as hell here right now. Just using this forum for some motivation and seeing what you guys are doing with some of the issues that my heep has wrong with it.

Ordered some brown dog offroad motor mounts today. Figured I should replace the shot stock ones while I have the intake/exhaust manifolds out of the engine bay. My stock exhaust manifold is not cracked, so I'm hoping some new/better quality motor mounts prolong it's life as well. All of the research I've done on headers is basically saying that they will crack eventually without flex joints so I'm opting to keep the stocker.

Also going to try to "fish" some bolts through the access window for the upper rear shock mounts instead of cutting through the floor. Normally that wouldn't be an issue, but I coated interior with herculiner a few years back and don't want to mess with cutting into it.

Fenders need a bit more trimming, missing the lid to the center console, need a new glove box latch, etc. Glad I got a bunch of the expensive/bigger mods done a while back. Just need to go back through and check my gears and lockers.

I'll add some more pictures shortly to keep this thread alive...
