XJ cherokee 2wd to 4wd

XJ cherokee 2wd to 4wd
I have been researching this as much as i can. I have a 1994 cherokee 2wd, with the 4.0 and auto trans. Will a 1997 cherokee 4wd work as a donor? Wasnt sure what years were the best to swap with.
