I've seen it a few times up on the other side of the cowl. Never on the passenger side. That side of the cowl isn't open right? Only the driver side is "vented". Guess this is better for protection of the filter. You leave the portion that you cut on the cowl open?

If you look at the cowl cover on the passenger side it is covered.

Yes I know it is covered. Now that I'm thinking back, I don't know why the ones I saw would have the filter on the driver side where it can get wet.

but hey now you have a spot open for dual batteries. Or you just going to leave that space open?

Well for now I'm going to leave it open. But it does free up a lot of space for more goodies.
