Default Woodgrain Wheeler (Dave's WJ)

Not much going on just yet, bored at work..figured I'd start this thing out because eventually it will get built.

Previous rigs (all of which have builds in my sig): 88xj, 4 door 98, 2000xj, 97TJ, 2 door 98.

Picked up this thing in November 2013, bone stock 130k on the 4.0, has the Np242 case, etc etc. Fairly clean.

Been super broke post wedding, so the only mods are the free ones (ones that require a grinder in most cases

Trimmed up the front bumper, as well as the rear. Also covered up the chrome with some matte black on the grille.

Also did a interior/exterior detailing..pretty minty for being 15 years old.

Note the crinkle in the rear fender from the first aetna trip:

Interior is way more comfortable than the XJ:

I want one of these eventually. Having a hard time parting with my XJ after doing so much work to it and still have a little more that needs done.

What year is your Grand Cherokee? Is the 242 transfer case better than the 231? Just wondered what the difference is.

edit: I see it is a 99'.

The WJ never came with the 231. Ive had 4 XJs, only 1 of which had the 242. I never had any trouble with it..however it is a bit larger than the 231 and hangs lower. Has less aftermarket support.. It does have the full time 4wd option though..which is nice. The 4.7 WJs come with the 247 t case which is awd with a 4 lo option. I went with the 4.0 and 242 because i was already familiar with them.

Picked up some 31" MTRs for cheap. Anything is better than street tars!

Ghey. Get a lift and lockers and let's go wheeling!

Built WJ's are nice, can't wait to see what you will do with this and then sell it and start over again

You shutup and be nice, or ill ban you from my build thread you big bully.

Ive got a guy wanting me to build him a website in return for some custom fab work. I could have him make me a badass rear tire carrier bumper, or a front winch bumper..but currently dont have the time to leave it with him since its the DD
