Good work on the start button. Not that hard to steal a cherokee. If I had to guess, a thief would probably never notice the other buttons for what they are and just rip through the wiring like normal.
Now if you put a stickers on them that say "push here 1st" I don't think you could blame a guy.

I appreciate it. I tried to make it look as clean as possible. I'm going to paint the push button area where I had to grind to make it fit. Overall it wasn't too bad. The hardest part was trying to determine what color wire did which job. I would have thought it would be real simple but it took more figuring than I anticipated.
While I had the dash apart I decided to follow Crusiers tip for eliminating the transmission power/comfort mode by jumpering across the connector to leave it in power mode permanently.

"First, make sure the 7 amp fuse in the "trans" slot of the fuse box isn't blown. Then do this:
Bypassing the Power/Comfort Switch on a Renix Jeep
Remove and unplug the switch. In the harness are 3 wires One has a stripe, one is tan, and the other black. Make a 4" jumper wire with a male spade at each end. Plug one end in the cavity for the tan wire and the other in the cavity for the striped wire and you'll be in permanent Power mode. Stuff the harness back in and reinstall the switch for looks.
If you happen to have a 91 or 92 XJ/MJ and it has the Power/Comfort switch, just jumper the Tan and Blue wires in the harness plug.
After doing the push start and transmission selector I decided to refresh the c101 connector. Once I had it open and apart I decided that it looked so bad I would also follows Crusiers instructions for eliminating the c101 connector.
I decided to swap injectors on the recommendation of several active members on here as well. I swapped to the Bosch 280-155-746 injectors and bought them from forum member Programbo. The install went great and I did notice an increase in throttle response, quieter engine noise and a slight increase in mpg.
The next few things I did was to add brass battery terminal connectors and upgrade the battery cable size as well as the various ground cables.
I had been noticing that my temp gauge just didn't seem to be reading right so I started looking for a junk yard cluster and finally found one that was suitable. As a side note, on the early model xj's take note that the speedo cable is attached to the back of the instrument cluster and I found it was best to go underneath the jeep and unhook the cable from there to be able to pull enough slack up to the gauge to disconnect it.
While I was at the junkyard I followed some advice I had learned from Bleepin Jeep and snagged some new rubber for my window seals. The old ones were worn, brittle and falling apart. Then "new" ones are so much better!
Last time I was at the jy I picked up a ZJ tie rod assembly and tonight I installed it. In person there is such a huge difference in the two. The picture just doesn't do it justice really. The ZJ one is all beef, the XJ one, well, it's soy imitation...
Ok so before I go any further on the jeep I feel like I need to know more about my lift. It was installed by the p.p.o and I think is a 4 inch lift. Measuring from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the stock flare measures 21 inches and I've read that stock is 17. Correct me if I'm wrong on that. The rear measures at 19 inches. The leafs are sagging and need to be replaced as well as the shocks. I took some pics of the lift parts and was wondering if anyone could identify the make based on pictures. Here you go:
