How much did that locker run you? Also did you have to do any modifying for that 2in lift such as steering / brake lines or whatever else? I am thinking bout doing the same lift for now.

The locker ran me about $450 plus a $50 extended warranty. It's expensive for two reasons: (1) its a Powertrax. (2) It's for a Chrysler 8.25 29 Spline. With the lift, nothing special. Throw the AAL in the bottom of the spring pack, longer shocks, and then the spacer up front. You have to worry about break lines when you get to the 3"-4" lift size. Also, I did throw a trac bar drop bracket in there just to be safe!

I see you're new! Go ahead and use the search function! Tons of threads out there with people doing 2"BB. You also may find some threads about the installs. Welcome to the forum!

Just wanted to start out by thanking Josh/somethingclever and Mike/sfcherokeeguy!

Yesterday was the big day. Went up to a 5.5" lift. I like to call it the MUT life since nothing really came together as one package!
Details:
  • 3.5" RE Superflex Leaf Springs
  • 5.5" RE Coils
  • 5.5" RE LCA's
  • 2.5" AutoZone Drop Shackles (meant for dodge ram)

What can I say? She's a MUT! It took longer than expected because the centering pins were too thick so each leaf had to be drilled out. Now, on to the pics:

Now, 33's will be going on this Friday... all in preparation for Jeep Beach 2012. It makes me happy to know that a Jeep I've had for two years this August, has come real far in a matter of 5-6 weeks starting with the Powertrax install. Big things still happening in the future! Stay tuned for more upgrades, more rides, and of course, more pictures!

No pictures today! But, took out the 4* shims and put in a tranny drop... Or as you 4x4's know it as a TC drop. Very little vibrations tomorrow. Getting 33x12.50 tomorrow then heading up to Jeep Beach!

Well, come to find out, the tires were bad. Either the belt was bad or the weights were thrown. With my 33x12.50 smooth as glass!

It's the way the fenders are cut. Front fenders are cut higher than the rears.
