So, turns out my XJ has an unperformed recall service... for a catalytic converter and reprogrammed ECM. What a coincidence... I'm throwing a code P0420. Possibly a bad cat. So, it looks like the Jeep is headed to the dealer later. Let's see if I get a new cat out of it.
Other than that, I'm looking at upgrading the stock speaker wire to something a bit thicker, an oil change, and changing the diff oil on my 8.25. Need to clean out the inside a little too, but it's 34 degrees outside, so screw that.

Turns out, the airbag module used to be there. They figured it was a bad spot due to water getting in there I guess, and relocated it. Thing is, I still have no clue where it was relocated to.
What oil you gonna throw in there?

I discovered that my '98 had a recall service performed when I found this under the driver's seat:

I'm thinking of using Rotella because of that thread along with a Wix 51515 filter. Thing is, I'm not sure what weight to use... I typically use 5w-30 but according to the owners manual... for my temperature range, I should be using 10w-30 or 10w-40. I'm border-line, though.. during the winter 5w-30 should be mostly fine at -20F to 60F.

I'm going to do the Rotella T6 5w40 switch. Running Mobil 1 5w30 now with a Napa Gold, and it works just fine. That T6 is expensive though, and need about a gallon and a half lol

My registration expired and my CEL is on and off. Hoping to drive it up to the emissions place at 8am since the CEL just turned off. Really hoping I pass otherwise I'm going to be DDing a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP until I get it fixed.
And yes, I know that the fact my registration expired is stupid of me. And that driving while it's expired is even more stupid. But the emissions place is less than a mile from my house and my dad didn't mention that it was expiring until yesterday, and it was expired then. Stupid situation, not gonna happen again. /facepalm

Welp, I think my Jeep loves me. It played nicely just long enough to get emissions done.
Not two minutes after I got this...

I also forgot to mention that the guy doing my emissions testing complimented my Jeep and said he liked the way the exhaust sounded!
