I figured i would start posting here as ive been asked too preveously to show my build. i guess here it goes!
So after about a year of searching for a XJ that i liked, i came across this blue 4 door, 1998 that i fell in love with the moment i seen it.
I bought it the same day i found it on craigslist cash in hand, happier than ever.
The twist? i had sinister plans from the moment i handed over my $4500.00
The platform:
98 XJ
Auto with np242
All options, power locks windows ect,
Hell! it even has remote start!
So when i got home from buying it, I had the bright idea of ordering a RC winch bumper right away.. Not for the point of looks, but i live in the middle of absolute nowhere. A small town in northern Canada.. Which means moose.. doing a lot of night driving.. i didnt want the front end of my XJ smashed in from hitting a deer or moose.. not that it would help me a ton from a moose.
I also hit 249'999 kilometers!
But it didnt look manly enough with its black powdercoated finish, So i added some wussie repellant.. Napa spray on bedliner!
Thats better! Adds a more textured finish.. actually to be honest.. now that im over a year into this build (*little spoiler) This was just an extremely good choice up front, if i never sprayed this bedliner on.. my bumper would have just ended up looking like a mess, ive rammed other jeeps (friends), trees, rocks.. ect. and the bedliner hasnt broken through yet.
Install time!
Well! Thats better!
Makes the stock jeep just look a hell of a lot better anyway, i never could stand the standard pressed steel stock bumper anyway!
The old headlights were pretty worn out, So i got some cheap ebay retrofits with 10K HID's. They were bright to say the least.. and blue.
I also welded on 1" square steel onto the bumper to make mounts for a 20" lightbar.. Because after installing the headlights i realized they were more for show than anything else at all, and needed the extra light for the highway.
*Update*
I should mention my company is sponsored by Rough Country Suspension Systems & DV8 Off-Road.
I have a lot of help from them for parts ect, Which is why you will see a lot of them in the posts to come.
I added a stinger to my bumper, also painted the wheels to give it a little bit of a shaper look.
Just starting to come together to where i wanted it looks wise..
