budget built xj on dana 60s
Hey guys i figured I should make a thread of my xj build. It's a 1991 4 door with a 4.0 and auto trans. I bought it from a buddy and he had already done a custom long ARM with about 6 inches of lift with cut 33 inch boggers. The axles are 8.8 rear with disks 4.88 gears full spool and the front Dana 30 chromos, 4.88s, and a Lockright I believe. It did really well but I was having ground clearance issues so I was gonna run 37s on those axles but decided to go with tons instead. So the game plan is Dana 60s front and rear I will be getting them mid week. Also custom bumpers, rear leaf flip, exo cage, coilovers, new 3 link up front, comp cut, onboard air, custom tube fenders, full hydro steering, beadlocked h2 wheels and a set of 40-42 inch pitbull rockers or iroks. Sold all parts except wheels and lift and I've got 1900$ hoping for another 800$ from the other stuff so that gives me about $2700 (bought the jeep for $2500)to start. Figure ill have about $4500 in it after all the new stuff.
Today I got started by pulling my axles and beginning the comp cut and trimmed the front fenders ( temporary till I get it setting on the new axles then ill do all the tube). also got my ac converted to air compressor and all my wires ran and air lines.

Thanks man. Ya when I was looking at doing this I saw most guys did it a bit different but I figured im gonna need as much room as possible for 42s without a huge lift. I'm hoping to keep it around 5-7 nches of lift.

This makes me really miss the shop at my parents house lol, I need a garage. Least when I lived in Michigan I could borrow dads shop lol. Oh well. Looks good so far man, hope it turns out like ya want. Ima stick with low and wide, I think that will do till I can the second stage of my build going, but that will be down the road a ways.
