I have a 1986 jeep Cherokee
2.8 with auto tranny. Can this engine be swapped for a 4.0?

Stick a TDI diesel into it. Lots of power and twice the fuel economy.
We typically get 30 mpg out of ours.

Works best with the AX15 manual trans though.
Any thing can be swapped with enough time and money but is it worth it?
Is it cheaper to just buy a 4L XJ and sell yours?
