Default Tire size and ......math

As everyone knows there are thousands of threads on "What Tire Size will fit....".

But, could it be as simple as some easy math?

Say you have 29.5" tires on and put a 2.5" lift on. Would 32" now fit? It can't be that easy --- can it? or are there other physics I'm not taking into consideration?

Thanks,

Good point. Forgot about that dimension. I knew it couldn't be so simple.
