Yeah it took me a whil to find one with the 5speed. But I did after 3 months of craigslisting. But I'm not all that impressed with it. It feels very durrable!! Bu it's very heavy feelig an clunky! The transmission that is. And the syncros don't feel all that great either. But it sure beats an automatic! And the ratios are set up prfect! With a super low .73 ratio in 5th gear! Talk about hwy mileage!!

It has been a while since my last update. I have been away to college and such. I have small updates so far. just window tint, new speakers, and thats about it.
I have been doing a lot of research on long arm conversions and SYEs. looks like I will be painting a few parts here and there as well hopefully adding an SYE and driveshaft this summer. Here are some resent pictures.

ive been sort of busy. new sound system, driveshaft, gauge cluster, and soon SYE!!
I decided to conquer the inevitable slip yolk problem this summer. So i did a lot of research and found that i could not use a stock front driveshaft because i had the AX-15 transmission and it is 2 inches shorter requiring a longer driveshaft. I need one that was 35 inches! So i called tom woods and got a quote that was not so cheap so i did a lot of looking on the net and found out that for whatever reason in 1993 jeep put a super long 33.3 inch shaft on the grand cherokees with the v8. so i did a search on ebay and sure enough there was a guy in ohio selling one!! so i snagged it for $36!! after waiting two weeks for the mail truck to bring it. i started working on it.
I shaved it down with a dremel tool and painted it real nice with primer and top coat. I will soon clear it.
Then i worked on getting the u joints out...took like 3 hours per joint!! but then i went to autozone and got the Duralast GOLD joints because they have a lifetime warantee. And autozones are everywhere as apposed to spicer dealers:/ haha. so here are the pics of the driveshaft project...
And the new gauge cluster and speaker

I ordered a JB CONVERSIONS SYE today.
I did a lot of research on which one to order...PORS, AA, Rugged Ridge, Cheap ebay, or JB.
I decided not to skimp out and get the ebay ones, and i read everywhere that PORC was the same as an ebay one, so i was down to JB and AA. i couldnt decide between the two so i called them and asked a few questions.
After talked to the reps at JB CONVERSIONS i was impressed and ordered their kit. they said that they designed their kit from the ground up and have VERY close ties with New Process gear(the maker of the NP231). plus the yolk they use is not the standard spicer yolk. It is made in house and is supposed to be stronger AND give better angle clearance.
I should be installing the SYE+drive shaft in the next week or two. I will try to keep the updates coming.
once i get this SYE business sorted out i will be doing the break lines and quick disconnects and then taking a trip to Beasly **** up in north Georgia( an hour from my house). CANT WAIT!

its a dayton 12" from parts express and i built the box. its a home audio speaker...with a large box design...its not always about the sub but more about the box you put it in.
And thanks for the comments guys! If you have any questions about the drive shaft i can always give you measurements and what not.
