I did my lift for the rear end yesterday, doesn't ride too bad and I can't wait to do the front end when I get the free time.
I built my bastard pack from a 3 leaf S-10 leaf spring. 2 leafs and the overload.
I used 2 from the Cherokee pack and the 2 + the overload from the S-10 pack.
I also threw on some 2" lift blocks.
I measured the front and rear from the center of each bumper before the lift and after.
Here are the results and I am very pleased that there are no negative effects at all, I will soon be doing a trans drop just in case.
Before Lift:
Front - 18"
Rear - 19 1/2"
After Lift W/ New Wheels
Front -
Rear - 29"!
9 1/2" Gain with everything.
That's about 3" with the tires so, 4" with the bastard pack and then the 2" block.
Pics of the rear:

Nice build... I feel you on the being in the military and not getting paid very much... especially to be able to pay all bills, and still have money to play... I am in the same boat as you and you are already doing way better than I am... then again you make quite a bit more than me being deployed 12months, instead of the 4-6 month (TDY's) we have.. Can't wait to keep and eye out for the next updrades to your build!!

Dude, Being Infantry and deploying for a year straight SUCKS! I am so tired of being shot at and blown up, missing a year at a time away from my wife and daughter, screw the little bit of extra money they give you on deployments, I still made more as a civilian.
Somebody's gotta do it, right? lol

I just lifted the front, I ended up getting some spacers untill I can afford the lift springs.
I messured the fenders front and back. with the new Rims and Wheels on.
Front - 34"
Rear - 35"
And I have my new Jeep Wrangler - Rubicon wheels and tires on it.

So far this is the price list for the lift
Bastard pack Leaf springs from an S-10 $40
Wrangle brake line $15
Longer U bolts $20
Front Spacers $10
And the Wheels I scored off of Craigslist BRAND NEW! for only $200, a guy just bought his new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, Trail Edition and bought different wheels and tires so wanted these out of his garage, SCORE!

OK, It's been a while, I've added a lot of things like Cutting out all the rust in the floor and putting in new metal, I added a Yellow top battery plus another large construction grade battery in the rear for my accessories, I've also rigged up the winch wiring for the inside, I bought a new winch and still need a bumper to mount it.
I just trimmed the front fenders and made pull pins for the doors so here is some pics!

I just got back from 6 months at RANGER School. Yes I got my Tab!
I little update on the Jeep. The bastard pack has settled and it looks like I've lost an inch to an inch and a half.
I am deploying in 2 weeks to Afghan so any more upgrades will have to wait.
When I get back I'm putting on a Rough Country 6.5" Long Arm Lift! and I scored a great 8000 lbs Warn winch so I need to buy a Winch Bumper also.
I plan to add a cold air intake, Performance headers and a complete Flowmaster exhaust system when I get back from this deployment.
