Chapter 1: A Dirty Beginning

So, I decided that I finally have made enough moves on Shiva (my 98 XJ) to deserve a build thread. Consequentially, I am going to have to rewind to when Shiva was a just a twinkle in her POs eye. Way back in the day, which was in 2009, Shiva was owned by a red headed smoke show I went to high school with . She lived a good life with said smoke show, her POs father was a mechanic at the local Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge dealership and was well kept until...one fateful day Shiva met had a terrible incident while innocently sitting at a stop light. In true Shiva fashion she took one from behind and and lurched forward smashing her front end into the rear of a truck. The damage was enough to make her PO cry to daddy for a new one and in turn Shiva found herself with a violated rear and a broken nose on the lawn for sale.
Enter me, the valiant consumer looking for his first Jeep to make a name for himself. As I crested the hill on my way to work I spotted her, Shiva, majestically parked with nothing on but a "For Sale" sign. I knew I had to have her...

Chapter 2: Early Life

Now Shiva has been through a whole lot under my care. She's been been properly Mudded...


Created many a picturesque donut...


Used as a higher point for bridge jumping...


Stared as the get away vehicle in a film shot on the back roads at Penn State...

(final movie got an A)

And had her insides wet down a few times...



Chapter 3: Shiva's Follies

My relationship with Shiva hasn't been entirely a bed of roses. She's had her clutch, fly wheel, pressure plate, all replaced...





Smashed into a curb and bent her lower control arm brackets...replaced with rusty's off road brackets and new adjustable RE control arms...



Been scarred for life by the PO...


Had her master & slave cylinders replaced, valve cover gasket replaced



I cheated on her briefly with this, until crawling back to her because I missed her so much...


She had a custom bumper courtesy of ZachsXJ



She broke her steering box bolts during install...


But finally accepted her nose job...


And finally, after she worked out in the gym (garage) for a few hours she developed a gansta lean




And a few more hours in the Gym she had a full blown lift (BDS shocks and Coils, OME leafs, BDS steering stabilizer, and RE adjustable lower control arms.)



We celebrated by sharing one of these at Victory Brewing Company in Downingtown...

Shiva's bumper gets a few more bolts into the uni-body!
