Default Second build: 1993 XJ Sport

Although, my first build is not done, I will start a thread for my 2nd XJ. I bought it last weekend. This one will be for the wife.

Here's some specs:

1993 Cherokee sport, 4x4 , 4.0L, 134,000 miles (same as my 92) automatic, np231, D30 / Chrysler 8.25 rear, A/C, Cruise control, full size spare and a clean interior.

It came with winter tires on steelies and OEM wheels. (no tires) It has tinted windows (except fronts and liftgate) The last owner changed the battery, spark plugs, wires and distributor cap, front brakes, starter, alternator and the muffler.(front to back)

The engine runs good and doesn't tick. (knocks on wood) It also has a floor, which my 92 did not have, lol.

The bad thing is there's some clunking going on, it needs an alignment and the clear is coming off on the roof. Nothing to cry about. The guy bought a new car for his wife and just didn't care to keep it.

It was for sale for 1,200$ and I ended up paying 1,100$. It's more than my 1992, but is in a better shape, overall.

The plan for this one for now is to make it run 100% and then put a lift (3,5-4,5 inch) and tires. it will most likely get my wheels/tires and I will get some 33's or 35's for my 92.

Alright, time for pictures.

All those stickers are coming off as soon as it gets warm. I tried taking them off this weekend and they are stuck on there good.

OEM Wheels, fire extinguisher (no idea if it's still good), hitch bar/ball and some coolant.

I brought it to my mechanic so he could fix some stuff on it. I had to change 2 end link bushings, the tie-rod that goes to the pitman arm, valve cover gasket and I got my other three OEM wheels installed. He also wanted to check my rear diff. so I got him to change the fluid at the same time. Ended up it was a good call because it was black. It's still looking good for being 19 y.o. He was supposed to change the track bar too, but the parts store sent him one from a grand Cherokee. I'm going back next week to change it. Either way, the Jeep drives better now.

I will post an updated picture tomorrow or saturday.

Long overdue update:

Jeep now has 31 inch tires. They were originally on my white XJ. I also finally changed the tracbar. I took the one from my white one and put it on this one since I bought an adjustable one. Jeep has been running good since I bought it. I won't be doing anything major on this one until I dig more into it. I might just drive it until the wheels falls off. I will inspect it some more when I'm on vacations.

Last update:

Jeep is getting either sold as is or getting parted out. Too many issues for me and decided to only have one Cherokee and have a newer car.

Anyone with any power please close this thread.

Jeep just got towed to my mechanic to get parted out. It should be done by next week or so and then it's going to the scrap. This thread can be locked now.

Thank you.

Jeep is now officially at the scrapyard. I kept some parts from it that I will install on my white XJ.
