SYE is done. Thanks to BotakBeng for stopping by and supervising/helping. I still have your tools!

Pinion is at 12 degrees. Driveshaft is at 15 degrees.

Going to top off the transfer case and take it for a spin later. Right now I shall enjoy this weather before it gets hot again next week.

Success! No vibrations. It's weird driving and not having that initial u-joint rumble at take off. Only the pinion bearing has some noise but that will be addressed next year during the gear and locker upgrade.

I really need to do this! It would be weird driving without some vibes.

It is actually pretty easy on the vehicle. Once the case is open, its only a few minutes to swap the shafts. Then clean, seal and install the case. I used a lot of RTV. Maybe a little too much. So if you need some let me know. I have many tubes of the Loctite brand gasket maker.

Because this would be useless without pictures... here they are.

Adams Driveshaft

Installed

Drive shaft angle. 12 degrees at pinion. 15 degrees at drive shaft

Another shot because the blue RTV looks cool.

SYE closeup

I used Project Hippo as reference for the install, as well as BotakBeng himself

Picked up a set of Thule cross bars and gutter mounts from my co-worker.
Also a bike rack, snowboard rack and some other Thule mounts for crossbars.

Trying to think of other things to do/fix/maintain before Moab. It's been a few years since my last excursion out there so I am getting anxious!

If I ever get my rack setup, you'll like it I promise. Full length roof basket with an awning and roof top tent.

Selling the Thule ski/snowboard rack $100 OBO if anyone is interested. I am selling on behalf of my co-worker. Also selling his bike rack for whatever someone wants to pay. Make an offer on them if you are interested.

I can't decide on which roof basket to get. Either Rage Black Widow or Proline Safari Rack.

Spotted these yesterday at 4WP on Decatur

Unfortunately I never drive my Jeep to 4WP because their parking lot is so damn small.

I'm doing the awning too! I found the collapsible legs at Wal-Mart for $8 I think. Testing out different tops/tarps to see which one holds better. I saw an awning at REI on Ft Apache for around $200. Figured I could do the same for $20 and make it whatever size I wanted.
