Headed out to a trail today....jeep never made it....over heated next to the prison because my ******* blocked the radiator with a gas can because I didn't have space inside and didn't have long enough ties to tie it to the roof rack



Put the girlfriend and room mate to work!!!! No we let Regina sit for a bit until she cooled down. Refilled the coolant and drove her home with out any issues.

 

Well decided to do my rear drums because I had such a god awful squeal...



Also painted my lights bar mount and mounted it on the roof. Now to save up for an led light bar!!!

 

Mounted!!! Took a bit of dremeling with a grinder and some ratchet straps to make it fit, but I got it to work!!!



Also made some straps to hold my sway bar disconnects when on the trail. Used some husky Velcro straps with d-rings and some heavy duty magnets that stick to my frame tie ins from Home Depot. So far so good!!! No more having to use zip ties over and over lol

Solid differential covers arrived!!! But did my diff fluid change about a month ago so I don't think I want to start installing them just yet however write up will follow when I get around to it

 

Well with a run coming up next week and summer around the corner, I decided to work on my cooling since temps are 100+ here in vegas.

First off, decided to do the hood spacer mod to let some excess heat out of the engine bay. Went off to Home Depot to grab some bolts and washers.



Process was pretty self explanatory. I used a write up I found on here. Took longer than expected because I had no help and roomies were at work

Next I went to the junk yard and scored me an oil cooler for my transmission out of an early explorer. Paid 9 dollars for it. Then went back to Home Depot to pick up some clamps, connectors, and tubing at autozone.



Took the grill and head light bezels out



Then mounted it with zip ties in front of the radiator. I could have done a better job at mounting it but it was so freaking hot and I wanted to get it done with the quickness!!!

Well on Monday my next project will be some make shift hood vents I seen a member do that came out quite nice. I refuse to pay a lot for lebarons and I can't seem to find any at our local junk yard so these will do for now! Stay tuned!

 

Hood vents are a must.I cut mine out of a stainless steal barb que grill side panel.lol.A little advice if your cutting your hood with a grinder cover the windshield or the sparks will melt pits in it..
