Default Red Green

I acquired my 87 MJ from a fellow forum member, in trade for an xj. This is my attempt at detailing the Frankenstein build that it is. I named it Red Green in honor of the Canadian TV show host who is known for his absurd repurposing of things to suit his whims. And because it was originally red and has a green front clip.

First I chopped up the floors. They were rather crispy.

This is after I media blasted the floor I saved, and forgot to cover the windshield. Oops.

Sure I could have bought ready made floors. But I didn't.

Found this in right upper corner of windshield frame. Got cleaned and repaired. New windshield installed. Did the same with rear window, but I have no pics of that.

Trimmed up some crunchy and damaged areas on the bed.

Replaced vacuum disconnect front axle with one from a 94 XJ. Also took front manual doors from said XJ. Installed 4 new control arms at the time .

Also threw in RE 4.5" springs up front. Used YJ shocks with some lower BPEs for a cheap upgrade that fit the length requirements. As a result, the rear sat lower than the front. Looked like an idiot for a few weeks.

Rigged up a bastard pack for the rear springs. Will get some new ones later, but this good for now. I used Toyota T100 shocks for the rear. They're firm, but not bad. Cost was a factor, and they worked for the required length. Also sanded and painted some. Will be using monstaliner on whole exterior when temps allow. Some 2x4 box tubing is also awaiting a free day to cut and replace rotten rockers.

now you just need a duct tape stripe down the side to be in true red green fashion. lol

if they don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy. lol

I'm glad at least one person gets the joke. I'm not sure about duct tape, but the fact that half the parts I've put on so far aren't from a Comanche might make up for it. Even have some Ford brake parts on the rear. Someone disc swapped the D44. Maybe I'll rig up an ice smoothing attachment so it can do double duty as a Zamboni.
