Default Project XJ... Meet Agnes, aka mah lady

welp! last night i bought a jeep! its a 2000 xj sport. it has 159k miles and other than a few minor things its in great shape. now i can start me a build thread. it already has a 4.5 inch RC lift so for now itll stay that way until i decide to upgrade it. this thread will be to keep track of what all i have to do to it. it has been in a minor front end wreck but nothing to major. ill try to keep this thread pic healthy but sadly enough for you guys itll be with my cell for now, it does alright tho. anyways im going to go snap a few shots and get a "to fix list" so stay tuned! also any advice or criticism would be great. im very open to all suggestions and opinions provided your not an *** lol.

also ive been out of wheeling for about 6 years so this will also be a learning experience. i had a tacoma in high school that i 4 wheeled a lot but nothing like the plans i have for this little gem. lately id been into drag racing pretty hot and heavy, i used to have and 01 z/28 with an ls1 and a few goodies that had me running mid 12s. so this will be a big change of pace for me. anyways im going to comb it over. ill post the pics up of the ones in the sale thread for now.

thanks guys!

destinationxj, i dont think he was. his friend had it posted on here for him though. the actual guy was super nice, he was askin 2500 in the thread but i managed to get it for 1900! the only bad thing was i had to drive from my house to VA beach to pick it up and tow it back. and i live 25 mins from tennessee lol

Irongrave, i def plan on doing some metal working on it. im a welder for a company that makes compressor tanks. so ive gotten pretty skilled with my "magma pistol" as i like to call it lol. im going to find some metal and fab some bumpers and a rack pretty soon, i gotta get that fender ironed out first

Nice find! Don't pretty it up too much, you won't want to wheel it!

welp today i rewired the radio, im gonna put a small sub in it i have laying around, gotta have my tunes.. and no im not one of the types that put rebel flag crap all over their lifted ride then drive through the walmart parkin lot with weezy thumpin lol.

next i fixed my bumper a little so it wouldn rub any more. idk if i wanna run without the plastic end pieces on there or not, one was broken so it def came off. still debating on the other though. heres a pic of it in the garage

Also when i bought it the guy tossed me a key with no fob and i was like ****! i dont have keyless entry! then while cleaning it up today i found the lil guy under the back seat lol. the ring is broke though ill have to make it work somehow

discovered a few problems today..

pin hole leak in the radiator
gauges stopped working (no bus).. then they started again, looks like wiring issues
need an alignment

windshield is broke lol
fender
hood
bumper
both light bezels
cowl piece is shattad lol
1 side marker light
needs air filter
windows tinted
pass window button wont work.. random
headliner comin down (prob just rip it off and put new fabric on it)
guzzles gas like a beast lol
really loud whistle coming from under hood but when i give er gas it stops. (no its not a bearing or belt im thinkin its a vacuum leak somewhere.

whew now the good

fixed the dr side door handle (button stuck)
got hatch open (needed adjusting)
rewired radio which fixed my door speaker problem (one big cluster f#ck) all fixed
pulled end cap off and fixed the shroud where it doesnt rub. (temp till i can get body fixed)

wow ive got a lot of work to do
any suggestions on fixes for any of the above would be nice thanks lol

here is the fix for the door handle problem i thought it was kinda neat. pretty easy too
i guess someone pulled the door handle really hard and bent the leaver that the pin hits, so the pin would slide by then get wedged by the leaver. it looked like this....
