Default Project Whiteout

Well fellas, picked up another XJ. This is going to be strictly my daily driver (Project Ratchet is the trail XJ). I also plan on taking my 5.9L Grand Cherokee and lower it, build the motor and make it a street truck. Now on to the XJ.

1998
4.0L
115k original miles.
2 Door
2x4 (yes 2x4, 4x4 conversion to come)

Plans

All aluminum radiator-ordered
Flowkooler water pump-have
4.5 inch Rough Country lift-ordering this week
Gen-Right Offroad hood louvers-ordered
Smoked turn and bumper signals-ordered
Smoked tail lights-ordered
31x10.50x15 ProComp Mts-have
Iron rock double sheer track bar-ordering this week
Iron rock tie rod with new tie rod ends-ordering this week
Stereo upgrades-ordering
Tread Lightly front floor mats-ordering
Cold air intake-ordered
Iron Rock Offroad exhaust kit with Magnaflow high flo cat-ordering this week.

I will post pictures of it later. I have already done a few things to it, bedlined the bottom rockers and put on white fender flares. The funny thing is that the jeep seems so small compared to the trail rig but it's going to look good once it's done.

Pics to come.....

why not leave it stock for a DD? or at least keep it mild.

because its just that, a DD. unless your drive to work consists of mild off roading a lift and tires is virtually useless and is just going to kill mileage and be more expensive to maintain. lifting a vehicle for the sole purpose of looks is just dumb IMO.

Because I'm not a fan of non lifted Jeeps. And since it's 2wd, I doubt it will effect the gas mileage that much. This is my 8th Jeep I have had and none of them have ever stayed at stock height. The 31s are coming off of my 5.9L and I figured a 4.5 inch lift would be the best way to go. Besides I could care less about gas mileage. Lifted jeeps never get good gas mileage and that's okay with me.

Gen right hood vents on the way. New all aluminum radiator is also on the way.

Ordered smoked turn and bumper lights along with these. A little different from the usual thing but I think they will look good.

I'm going for the white out look but with small amounts of black in there. These tail lights look good and will work with what I am going with.

The 4.5 inch Rough Country lift will be here tomorrow. Can't wait. Planning on taking out the 242 out of my old trail ZJ. Now all I need is a front axle. I promise I'll snap some pictures tonight.

Lift kit came in. Still waiting on the tail lights and smoked corners/bumper lights. Going to order Iron Rock's double sheer track bar, their tie rod with new tie rod ends and their exhaust system this Monday. Also my gen right hood vents should be coming either today or tomorrow.

That's a clean looking 2 door judging by the picture.

It is a very clean 2 door, minus a dime size surface rust spot on the passenger's side, now covered by bedliner, its clean. Can't wait for it to be built and on the road again.

Thanks Derek. My Iron Rock stuff should be here tomorrow and I think once I scrap the old trail ZJ, I'm going to buy the rest of the CROK rear tire swing for the trail XJ and a Detours tailbone tire carrier for this guy. Don't want to keep the 31 in the back. Much rather have a tire carrier for it.
