project: weekend off roader!!!
I live in Iowa, so i had to have a 4x4 for the winter, and if i was gettin a 4x4, it had to be a JEEP! i found a nice cherokee, equipt with the NP242 transfer case. with 234,000 miles on it and it still runs like a champ! this this is ALL rust free!
Other than that its all stock....for now, im planning on building all of my own stuff. bumpers, rock sliders, roof rack etc.
Ive started with the roof rack, its all 3/4 EMT bolted toghether with 5/16 bolts. ill have a thread for it in the fab section soon.
i havent found any place to test my new to but ive uploaded some pics to show you guys what im workin with.

new no wled roof rack for the xj!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ive seen many homemade roof racks on here and personaly they look awsome, but you also cant beat the price considering they are like 300 bucks out of a Quadratrec mag.
So i decided to build one of my own:
3/4 EMT, Twentyseven 5/16 x 1 1/2 bolts and Sixteen 5/16 x 2 inch bolts. with nylock nuts and 5/16 washers (2per bolt).
the side tubes are 3ft 6" on bottom and 3ft 2" on top (long),
the end are 2ft 6 (width)(all 4)
my side supports are 6 inches tall, one inch is pinched on each end, the ones on the front are 7 1/2 with 45s bent on the end, then pinched.
The bottom center parts are 3ft 10in (3x)
I wanted to go cheap with my corners so i just bought the 1 piece 90s
I then measured holes and drilled and drilled and drilled and drilled.
I thought it looked pretty good i painted it black, it was real easy to put toghether.
im still workin on mounts. it will sit on top of the existing rack but i dont want to drill into it. Ill have pics of that soon.
BLOT TOGETHER KITS OF THIS ROOF RACK WILL BE FOR SALE SOON!!!!!!!!
