Well... got the tire carrier and gas tank skid put on today, I got a few good pic of that, it looks great besides the fact that it makes my rear end sag by about an inch, but I just put an order in for some Teraflex 1.5in lift shackles to even it back out again.
And I also went on a bit of a parts hunt today and piked up a High Pinion Dana 30 to replace my crappy LP (No more bent front driveshafts) and got a SYE'd T-case as well. I have to go get a driveshaft made locally before I put that in, and the front end is getting regeared to 4.88 with gears I bought a few weeks ago. That's going in after the rear is regeared to match.
Just started tearing this down, its going to take a lot of work to get all that rust off. Im going to see if I can buy a cheap sandblaster or have someone do it for me, its going to take days to wire wheel it otherwise.
I started writing up a short writeup on vehicle painting too, if you were interested look for it in the How-to section in a few days or so.

Love the color man. I just got an xj about a month ago. It doesn't have the best paint in the world. Looking forward to seeing your write up on painting.

Installed a set of Teraflex 1.5 inch lift shackles to correct the sag that the new bumper caused.
Sits at a great height now with just a little bit of forward rake.
I also got bored and didnt like how the JCR tire carrier held the tire perfectly vertical so I took a old dana 30 pinion nut and put it in the bottom wheel stud as a spacer to give it some pitch.
Next thing on the list is getting a variable length driveshaft made and putting that t-case I have laying around on, and mount those rocksliders.

Ok, got a pic.
Mounting them tomorrow and balancing them with airsoft bb's. Curious how well its gonna work. Gears should be installed next week, just gotta order the 4.88's for the rear, already got the fronts. Front should be no problem, its not on the vehicle since im swapping in the high pinion front end.

Im selling them, ill ship them but there is only 3, they are Cooper Discoverer ST's with like 50-60% tread.
And also, got the new STT's mounted today and what a day it was. Went to try them out at the offroad park up the road, I broke through a deep icy puddle and got stuck in water almost to the rear window in back and up to the grille in front, had a little bit of water starting to trickle through, but nothing bad, I'm surprised how well my doors seals worked. I got pulled out of there then pulling someone else out of the same hole I sheared my front bumper off, bolts snapped and tore a little piece out of the unibody.
We drove down the road to a welding shop and I had the area reinforced with a plate and bolted it back on all for 20 bucks. But man those tires are great, having 33's that aggressive I can just walk right up just about anything no problem only time I even came close to stuck all day was in that icy pit. Biggest carnage of the day was when the bumper came off it crushed my driver side horn, now it sounds all goofy.
