So what happened? It looks like you came down super hard on the front end of your ujoint skid, and that force just ripped the third member. We need more info on how this happened lol!

I have hit that pinion guard WAY hard a few times. When we pulled it off it was bent. But where it finally came apart, I wasnt on the diff at all. I have climbed the same waterfall many many times, even the weekend before. BEtween the bent guard, and me beating the living hell out of that rear end for the past year and a half, it was time to give up the ghost I guess. I've heard of this being a possible break, just never thought it would be me, and in such awesome fashion!! hahaha

This is where it broke right here...

haha, nice man! So you gonna keep the 9 or go different? Third members aren't cheap, but a 9" is a super strong axle. And IMO if you put something else in for a rear end, Ovr time, it's gonna break. That is just the nature of the beast. Plus, you already have the 9 all set up with your suspension.

Dont be, I'm actually surprised I hadnt broken something in the rear sooner. This thing has taken some serious abuse for having stock shafts, stock case, 9"'s are VERY strong rear ends.

Keeping the 9", it has treated me well. Going to be looking for a Nodular third, 35 spline shafts, and a 35 Spline locker. Then i'll probably truss it too. There's a dent on the back of my housing so big that it was rubbing on the ring gear on the inside. Never noticed it til I pulled it apart.
