Took her out wheeling on Sunday, what a muddy mess. And the verdict is.... NEED ALLOYS!
On the up side, I did make it through the rock garden taking the harder right line past the tree, that was a little interesting in the mud.

^^^ that's why I didn't run the snakes this weekend! Nothing but slop. How did the BA outer shafts hold up or have you installed them yet?
No one piece really, just wondering where in slc you are buying DOM? I know wasatch steel doesn't sell it...

No alloys installed yet. It was a stock shaft.

They held up this weekend.. well, I only got one side in, replaced the broken stocker. Still need to install the other side.
Broken vs. 4340 Chromoly

Here's a couple pics from the trip, we went and checked out some old mining towns and ran rattlesnake and Constrictor. Wayne's World was dry and I walked right up it.

I still need to get a cage going. With the new steering setup and the Chromoly shafts I am very happy with how it's been working. The steering feels eleventy bazillion times better than it did before. I am planning on a 4 day MOab trip in October, I would like to have a cage and an upgraded master cylinder in before then, The brakes have always felt mushy since the bigger axles/brakes. I think i'm going to do the late 80's e350 master cylinder. Supposedly bots right in.

This is up by West Mercur & Jacob City. We checked out some old mining workings, the old Mercur Cemetary, whats left of JAcob City, ran rattlesnake and Contrictor, and finished the day off with some tri-tips and BBQ. All in all a fun day!

Well, took her out again this weekend. Headed out Friday night after work. Got to camp and BBQ'd up some Burgers then headed for the trail. Made our way up Rattlesnake, then headed up Constrictor.
Picture of Eagles Nest to give you an idea....

Obviously 99 percent of the rigs cannot make this obstacle without winching. But I was having fun trying anyway, I finally went to back off and didnt realize I was backing off on an angle, when the front end came down it tipped me driver side into the wall, the front left corner caught the wall and kept the Jeep from going over, but it did some significant damage in the process. Hit the fender, hood, and marker light, broke the header panel off and pushed the whole hood, grille and fenders over about 2 inches. It didnt tweak the unibody, just took all the panels and broke the mounts, and pushed everything over. Pretty sucky... looks worse in person...

We headed back to camp, had a fire, got some sleep, it poured all night. Woke up Sunday and decided to head back up, figured it was nice and muddy now, it'd be a whole new trail. And it was. We had a few breaks, I ended up smashing a tail light, and of course, I had to break the Obligatory front shaft for the trip. Broke the front right outer, shaft # 5. It was a stocker, I hadnt put the alloys in that side yet, but I will now.
NO doors, a chop top, and cage should be coming soon.
