Quote: I had the same set up and problems with interference at the knuckles on passenger side spring compression. I was also "wallering" out the knuckle. I moved The drag link end to the tie rod, which should also help your bump steer. I will take a pic and post in a little bit. Good luck. You will also see I copied your lower spring perch idea. Thanks!
How bad is the dead spot in your steering wheel though?? Does the tie rod rock forward and back at all?

My buddy had the exact same setup and the tie rod would rock back and forth and he could hear the heims hitting the knuckles. It annoyed him to the point he changed it.

Have you had any issues at all?? I'm seriously considering changing mine.

The dead spot is not very noticable; of course I rarely drive it on the road. I havent noticed the noise from the heims yet but maybe I will now that I aware of it! To me, knowing the bind I was putting on the steering on the trails with the drag link and tie rod end both on the one knuckle was more of a concern than what I have now. It may not be perfect, but way better than when I had the previous set up. Of course, this is the third time I have changed it in 18 months so who knows if this will stand the test of time, Good luck.

This is the only shot I have of the steering set up; I will take one from the front when I get a chance but the angles are perfect on the pan hard and drag link now.

I've got 4ft. of 1.5" .120" wall DOM with your name on it to sleeve that tie rod.
I even bent mine a little and it's also 1.25" .281 wall sleeved with 1.5" .120 wall DOM, but it's below the knuckle to keep my ride height low and uptravel high.

hey i've got a few questions, just on some of the metal you used. for the frame stiffening, i'm needing to do that, but what size angle did you use? is it like 3x2x1/4? or something like that.

Does the 3x3 hang over a little toward the back? Would a 3x2 work better?

Also where ya buying all this DOM?

My cross member is 4x2 3/16 wall, and the brackets are all 1/4" plate.

Couple vids I found of my cousin and I on my phone from Moab in October, thought I'd throw them up just for kicks.
