Nice bling!

 

So my front arms were were hitting the body before full bump. So we modified the front arm mounts, dropped the mounting location an inch on the cross member.

I was using aftermarket poly bushings for the front arms, which are super stiff. Now that my arms are basically level and my caster shouldn't be an issue now I decided to swap back in the factory style rubber bushings. These flex so much better.

So I tore the front end out and painted the front arms, modified the brackets, replaced all my mock up bolts with grade 8's, and put everything back together for good now.

Here is the final setup...

 

I just read thru the whole thread . Insane build man . Full width looks looks totally kick azz ! Sitting that low with all that down travel should be fun to drive .

I didnt want to post this cause it's a crap pic, but what the hey.

Flexing it out last night... this is about an inch from the bump stop on the front left, and the rear right was also about an inch from the bump stop. So it's pretty well- balanced I think.

 

So I decide to start on some of the smaller misc. stuff last night, basically tie up a bunch of loose ends.

Put the front drive line in, got lucky and it fit perfect due to the fact the front end is pushed forward a couple inches, which made up for the longer pinion on the 44.

Pulled the rear coil retainers out, added an isolator to keep the coil quiet when it re-seats. This setup turned out sweet. There is a bolt welded to the angle iron, the bolt comes down the center of the bump stop, the round plate that retains the coil is welded to the bump stop. So the retainer goes on over the bolt, nut goes on which retains the coil, then slide the bump stop into place. I dig it.
Also Finally got all the grade 8's in and torqued down.


Then I decided to set the fenders on and try to flex this thing out, just to see where i'm at. I can't get it high enough with just a jack and blocks to get the bump stops to hit. The front will compress 3-4 inches and at the same time the opposite rear corner does the same, so it's pretty balanced. Maybe i'll go borrow the old man's engine hoist so I can get it high enough to actually use the bump stops. So here's a few pics, remember , this is only 4-5" of lift and 4-5" of up-travel.

SO... basically my list of items to do before it's wheelable.....

1- Rear Drive Line
2- Run rear brake lines
3- Bleed all the brakes.
4- hook up fuel lines and wiring for pump.
5- Hook up t Case and shifter linkage.
6- Shorten Drag link and swap pitman arm.
7- Mount rear shocks.
8- Pray this bastard starts right up after 9 months.

So throw it up for Cherokee of the month. I'd vote for you just for driving a black rig and living in AZ, way too hot for me! Seriously though, you're rig doesn't have to be THAT special to be up there, just get a few good pics of you using it for what its for.

And, it'll probably break in the first 10 minutes like it used to.
But it would def. be nice if it didnt.

 

Thanks man. And I agree, I think it'll be much funner than the old 8" lift, should be much more stable.

 

Started mounting the rear shocks last night.

Built some mounting tabs..


These things are huge...


Tying the upper mount into the area plated for the rear coils..





try to finish the upper mounts tonight or tomorrow and the rear shocks will be done.

 

Took some shots with my new camera last night. Kinda cool.

Nice work; Intrested on how well it flexes on an RTI ramp. My bet would be on "SICK".
