Walk out to car this evening to pick up my son from the in-laws.
Open door......no dome lights. WTF??!?? Check date code on battery, 2013.
Whip out Fluke DMM, 0VDC. Hmm that's interesting. Have in-laws drop son off, wait till wife gets home. Figure battery is in need of replacing anyways. Head to Advanced Auto. Pick up the following:
Duralast Gold battery
Duralast felt terminals
Duralast dielectric grease packet
install new battery and associated felt terminals, use label maker to label date installed, land negative, land positive.....dome light comes on. WTF???
walk around XJ looking for open doors. Tail gate isn't fully closed. Close it and dome light turns off. Sitting at dinner about an hour later:
Me: "yea, the dome light must have been on all last night and all of today. That's what drained the battery"
Wife: "is that my fault then?"
Me: "huh?"
Wife: "I took the stroller out of the back last night"
Me: "FUUUUUUUUUUUUU"
Also, I learned the battery terminals are absolutely atrocious. Criminal even. The mechanical stop built into the terminal that stops the square headed bolt from turning is worn away. Looks like robots were knawling on my terminals. Need XJwonders cable love in Jeep.

Milwaukee fan? Ordered up the half inch impact but also looking at the electric ratchets. How do you like yours? 3/8 or 1/4?
it is fabulous! Wouldn't trade it for anything!
and yes big Milwaukee fan. Just got the 46" tool chest. Also included a pic of my tech bag. I use this everyday at work. Great tool bag, even has a spot for my laptop (that was the selling point).
I have the 1/2 impact and the 3/8 ratchet they are great, I no longer have to turn on my air compressor so I find myself using my impact a lot more.
this seems to be the general way things go when air tool guys get their hands on Milwaukee cordless tools. Mostly, the cordless ratchet and cordless impact.
Nice. I had one electric ratchet a year's ago. Makita maybe? Not sure but it was awful haha. Kind of scared me away from electric tools for awhile but now after seeing reviews of the new stuff, I jumped on the impact and am debating the ratchet. Milwaukee seems to be up there in terms of quality.

true dat. I think you will be happy would it if you buy one.
Ahh there is the picture of the box I have been waiting for! Very nice. I would need one a bit larger then that though. I am guessing they come in different sizes in the same style as yours? I really like that top compartment.

I know dude, I meant to send you pictures. But you can't upload pictures from your phone in the PM message writer. But yea, it's nice. This is the biggest size Milwaukee manufacturers, 46 inch. They also make a smaller 30".

Haha no big deal. I figured thats what it was. How deep is it? I think my current box is 30 deep by 62 long but only 40ish tall. Might need 2 Milwaukee boxes! Having the top power station is well worth it alone.

Meh... hey, now you've got a good batter and don't have to worry about it again for a while. Did you go withe the Group 58 or the 34? I went with the 34DLG, XJWonders cables, and a 136 amp alternator for a '98 XJ (same as the XJ 136 amp, but has the 5 rib pulley instead of 7 rib). You should see my headlights. People refuse to believe they're the stock sealed-beams... of course, the wiring harness helps too.
